Moving right along

So today we met with our loan officer and we qualify for more than we are looking at spending on a house. Always good news. We discuss my working and the difficulty I have had in finding a job. I really am to a point that just any job at any pay I would take. Our LO is very well connected and is president of several network groups and offered to make some introductions to people that she knows. All and all a great meeting today.

While we where there I got a call for a temp job with a builder for Thursday and Friday. I then got a call back from the LO and she told me not to settle on a job. She had a idea that she would like me to commit 3 months to and would like to further discuss it with me and introduce me to a couple people that could work with us.

You see our LO is my ex sister in law. I have stayed close to her over the years and after my divorce from her bother. She and use to work together in Houston and she knew me in my "prime" of my real estate career. She hates hearing me want to settle for a receptionist job and knows I am better than that. After meeting with us her brain was going a million miles an hour and she wants to meet me again to discuss a business proposition. So next week I will hear her master plan. I am excited and it does feel good having someone who knows me for so long to have faith in me.

So that is the next puzzle in our picture. Now just to twist it and see how it fits in.

Something I hate

I went to Wally World to pick up some things yesterday and I forgot to bring my reuseable bags in. For 29 items they where bagged in no less than 18 bags!! Double bags, 2 items in one bags, etc. Just a terrible waste! Plus I live on the second floor so it is a pain to have that many bags cause lets me honest I don't like making numerous trips. But at least now I have trash can liners for a while for the bathroom!

Weighing In

So since hubs and I have been married and just before we have gained some weight. What can I say we love to eat! It started as too much ice cream (what can I say the hubs works for Blue Bell) to eating out to much, to stress eating thru moving, etc. Yeah I have some excuses.

So now is time to get it off! But I am not sure what I want to do. I know eat right and exercise, but I have never been a big exerciser. What is your favorite form of exercise? I am uncoordinated and will duck at any balls coming at me, and I never learned how to work any machine in a gym but the treadmill. Plus I get so bored in the gym. Anyone know any good videos?

I also am thinking of joined weight watchers. I know several people that have had great success with it and it is nice to have someone to hold you accountable. Cause lets be honest the hubs is not a good person cause I can talk him into anything! Before he meet me he was in the gym 3 days a week and had lost 25 pounds. Since we have been together he has gained 50!!! I am a baaaaadddd influence!

So what to do? I plan to start something starting monday even if it is salads, grilled chicken and hard boiled eggs.

Happy Pattys Day

">Today has been a quiet day we had brunch here at magnolia cafe. It has been on Diners Drive ins and Dives which is my favorite Food Network show. I also had Casino EL Camino this week that was also on their show. I love being able to go to these places.

We drove around some and talked to our loan officer and set an appointment to meet with her next week to get the house buying process underway! I am very excited and kinda nervous. Thou I sold houses for several years it is different now. I just hope we are really being realistic with the price range we are looking in with me not having been employed by a day job in the last couple years. We shall see how it all goes.

I am very excited that I am participating in this:

I "met" my swap buddy Sonya at A day in the life . She and her hubs are teachers and live in central IL and have a corn field in their back yard! After properly "stalking" her post I am getting several ideas for her basket and ready to shop!

Ten on Tues Take 4

This one had some different questions than norm but fun none the less!

1. Quick! Zombies are coming!! What do you do? I just watched Zombieland so I now know all the rules, I need a gun and a hummer!

2. Whew, that was a close one. …I think your phone is ringing. Oh, it’s your best friend! She thinks she’s been bitten by a zombie. What advice do you give her? Stay away from me so I don't have to shoot you ;)

3. You realize it’s time to leave your current location because it’s clearly not safe anymore. Are you going to move at night or day? Defend your reasoning. Day so I can see the bloodsuckers coming

4. During your relocation, you come across a weapon superstore. My, that’s convenient. What kind of weaponry do you choose? All please never know when you will need more ammo, and that is why I now have a HUmvee

5. As you leave, an old lady on the side of the street begs you to help her. Do you? Why or why not? Is she speaking english (or any true language) then yes but if she is babbling sorry grammy, you too just became target practice.

6. Good choice, you’re clearly a good person to have around in a zombie apocalypse. Oh hey, there’s a wifi signal here! You can’t stay long but this is your chance to gather some intel on the current situation. What’s the first website you check? Facebook, if you can update your status you are not deadlike!

7. SHH! What was that noise?! Rats, and roaches they live thru anything!

8. I think it’s time to get out of here. I hope you have a plan. Where are you going now? Disneyland, why not? NO line!

9. Wait a minute, that looks like a bite mark on your arm… You may be infected too! Will you tell other people? No cause I have no one as a solo warrior.

10. How does this story end? It is a cliffhanger to be continued.....BUt I am a good guy so you know I will be in the sequel :0)

Ten on Tuesday take 3

This ten on Tues had me thinking.

1. Of your current hobbies, which would you choose to spend more time, money, and effort on? Why? Sadly all hobbies have slipped by the way side with crazy work schedules and the move. I would like to travel more and for the hubs have some of those travel plan include some fishing for him. More live music shows that we both enjoy.

2. List the two other hobbies/habitual activies (not chores) besides the one listed above that you regularly do now and didn’t choose in question one. Geesh, umm probly decorating and cooking. Have not really been doing much of that lately.

3. Why are you spending time on the above two hobbies/habitual activies at all if you really wanted to spend your time on the first one you chose? …or to put it another way, what are these two hobbies/habitual activities fullfilling that the first one doesn’t if you don’t want to put all your effort into the first hobby? Because we have to eat and I like to have a pretty home that I am in all the time. And by cooking I mean trying new things not just the routine dinners.

4. Ready John 3:16 in the bible… In what way does this passage affect you? What are your feelings towards these words, positively or negatively? "
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."- My thoughts are that God gave selflessly to our world and our race. With your believe in God one will grow and thrive.

5. M&M’s: nuts, no nuts, or peanut butter? No nuts

6. Putting away the feeling of pride being a bad thing; what secretly/openly are you proud about yourself? Being able to make changes. I was very afraid of big changes but I know I can do it.

7. Given one room in the house to do with what you want, not changing the actual size of the room and with all the money you would need, what would you do, and be specific? (this can range from bouncy floor, walls & ceilings; to hard wood floor with wood paneling and purple ceiling with a chair; to nothing)- I want new master bedroom furniture, something that is my and the hubs and is not anything we had from before. I have to wait til we get a new house thou..

8. What’s the next movie you’re going to see? Not what you’d LIKE to GO see, but the next movie you realistically are going to watch. Probly something on the redbox, Thou I want to go see Valentines day and Alice in wonderland

9. Use the keyboard only and make your best smiley/funny/cool face –> like this!
8^)- this is mine--;0P

10. What makes you cry? What makes you pray? What makes you laugh? Bad dreams like the one I had last night, I pray to do the right thing and for guidance from god, and My hubs makes me laugh all the time.

Tuesdays List

Jessica and love from Texs does a tuesday list and I decided to play today.

My Wish List:

A new Coach purse- I have a 30th Bday coming up....

Also
I picked out my engagement ring and thou I like it I picked it out way to fast and regretted it. I got it and immediatly was trying to figure out how to tell hubs the ring I picked out was wrong. Fast forward a year and having to go to the jeweler several time to get the rings cleaned and checked out and I have showed hubs this one I lurve. Everytime we walk in. I did plenty of research this time. I should never have had him buy something that big without looking before and making sure. I do more research for shoes than I did on my ring. Sigh.

The biggest thing I have on my wish list thou is....
See full size image

Yes a new job. That would make asking for all the things on my wish list so much easier!

Job Blues

So part of the big move was the stress over jobs. Hubs got a transfered (FINALLY) but I was not so lucky. Since I when back to school last year I was bartending and had a very sweet schedule of Mon-weds day bar. So I was home by 8 pm. I was S.P.O.I.L.E.D. I knew this then, since I have bartended off and on over the years, and worked many late nights for the money I made.

When we planned to move here I was very amibious about my field. I have a history in Real estate, am a Notary Republic, and just went to school and got my paralegal certification. I knew the pay in Houston and felt I could get something similar in Austin. In the capital of Texas finding a job in the legal field should be no problem right? Wrong. There is also a law school here that students will do "paralegal" work for nothing. As an internship for free or pennies. Great.

Well the real estate side kicked in. Surely I am qualified to work at a title company since I know contracts, and have worked with them for some years and am a Notary so I can handle closing. The problem is the economy we are in the title companies are running at bare bones and the one company I was calling into and did all the interviewing process has to wait 90 days before they hire anyone.

So ok I can bartend. Not my first choice but will pay the bills and hopefully meet new people. Well after looking at 1 million (ok alot of places) I settled on waiting tables. Thou it is at a restaurant we like and is alway busy....I HATE it. I do not use hate lightly and rarely hate anything but this I do. The hours are so long, it is alot less that what I made bartending, and I am older and is several ways more mature than the people I work with. It is not my goal to work to sit up there drinking Plus I never see the hubs. I get Weds. off to be with him but we are both so exhausted that we are whiny and semi mean to one and other. I don't like it at all.

I have resorted to applying to very low paying jobs that I am over qualified for just cause that would be more money than I am making and I could be on a better schedule with the hubs. All I know is something has to change cause at this rate I am going to go crazy and drag my hubs with me.

Any suggestions?
